"Laurel was my doula with my 3rd delivery just 3 months ago. I had not had a doula beforehand so I was not sure what to expect but on our first meeting she explained every kind of support she offers. She checked up on me regularly and worked with my husbands very busy schedule to make sure she met him too before the big day. In the delivery room Laurel stepped up and took care of my needs leaving my family more calm. She was able to keep me grounded and focused while in pain for about two hours. She was connected and consistent, I could not have asked for a better person to guide me through that moment. She was on top of many details that not even my family thought of- like getting me a wheelchair and asking everyone to eat outside the room because I could no longer eat. There are many details that make her a wonderful doula. Just know you will be heard, seen, and validated. I would recommend her to anyone.

"If you are thinking about having a doula, just do it!! And do it with Laurel! This was my second delivery, first one with a Doula and I loved it! She helped me a lot not only during the delivery but giving me support prior to it and the postpartum. Laurel is sweet and she was very generous with my family, giving them support as well. I would definitely recommend a doula to any of my friend, but not just A doula, I would recommend Laurel!!
Oh, and the Bengkung Belly Wrap that she sells... a MUST go after the delivery!!"

"My name is Scott Olschansky and I just became a first time father. My wife Katie and I had no idea what to expect. At first we looked at home birth, and thought that while it might be fine for some people, it was not the right choice for us, and only after the birth did we realize how right we were. We did decide to get a Mid-Wife led hospital birth, but when my wife brought up the idea of Doula (which to be honest I’m not sure I fully understood what they did and why they were needed), I resisted. As time went on and I read more about birth and labor (and all the various elements that go into it) I realized that not only am I too close to the situation, (being the father and husband) but I had no where near the experience to truly coach, support and guide my wife through the process of giving birth. I also probably didn’t realize (I and do now) how much I also needed the steady, solid, and experienced hand of a good Doula.
I will now cut to the chase, not only was hiring Laurel one of the best decisions we have have ever made together as a couple I literally shudder to think what if my wife didn’t have the foresight and wisdom to suggest it in the first place. Laurel is simply in my mind one of the most mature, observant, caring, wise souls I have ever met, even if she wasn’t our Doula during the birth of our wonderful daughter Paloma, I’d want her in any situation where a cool head but a warm heart is needed. You will be very happy you not only choose to use a Doula be it you are using a mid-wife or a doctor but you will be even happier you chose Laurel.

"At first I didn't know what a doula was until Laurel explained it to me, and she did more of what she was expected to do! In the middle of my pregnancy we found out that my baby was being developed with a birth defect and that he would need surgery right after birth, Laurel went beyond her duties to find out more about his case in order to give me advice and comfort. She would always check on me to see how I was handling everything. Laurel is such a nice person and a great professional. Thank for all you did".
